Hop Farm Music Festival nominated for NME Awards 2012 Print option in slimbox / lytebox? (info) E-mail

Hop Farm Music Festival, run by Irish music promoter Vince Power, has been nominated for Best Small Festival at the NME Awards 2012.

Hop Farm takes place every year in the Kent countryside.

The event has no VIP area, so everyone has the same experience, there's no registration, no sponsorship, and no branding.

This year's Hop Farm Festival takes place from June 29 to July 1. The Festival, now in its fifth year, is up for an NME nomination alongside some other well-known Irish acts.

Noel and Liam Gallagher could have even more to argue after being nominated for Hero and Villain of the Year respectively.

Liam's new band Beady Eye was also nominated for the Worst Band award, while his older brother picked up nods for Best Solo Artist, Best Album and Greatest Musical Moment.

And he has already been revealed as this year's recipient of the Godlike Genius Award.

This year’s awards will be handed out at a glittering ceremony at London's O2 Academy Brixton on February 29, where there'll be a host of special guests and musical performers.

The event will be hosted by comic Jack Whitehall and feature performances by acts including The Vaccines and Kasabian who are up for three awards including Best British Band and Best Live Act.

Noel Gallagher will have to take on Florence Welch for Best Solo Artist - with the Florence + the Machine star also up for Best Track and Hottest Female.
